If you are hit by a car while riding your bike, the driver of the car is nearly always liable, unless in case of force majeure. Cyclists are highly vulnerable in traffic. You have no protection at all. This is why the law says that motor vehicle drivers must be aware that cyclists do not always strictly obey the traffic rules.
